1. What cookies and similar technologies do
Cookies are small values a website can ask your browser to retain and return with later requests. LocalStorage and sessionStorage are separate browser facilities that can retain values for a website. Their use can require consent unless a relevant exemption applies. Ordinary browser caching stores resources to help pages load; it is distinct from storing a project brief or tracking an advertising profile.
2. What the editorial site code uses
The editorial pages and brief-composer script do not set advertising, analytics or personalisation cookies. They do not use localStorage or sessionStorage to retain form entries, navigation state or reading behaviour. There are no third-party analytics scripts, embedded players or external font requests in these pages.
Any site-wide privacy controls supplied by the hosting environment are separate from the brief composer. Where such controls are displayed, consult their descriptions for the preference they retain. A consent preference is not permission for an undisclosed use, and optional technologies should not operate before any legally required consent.
3. Temporary interactions and requested actions
| Feature | What happens | Persistence |
|---|---|---|
| Navigation and disclosures | Open or closed state is held in the current page | No storage written by the site script |
| Brief fields and preview | Text is assembled in page memory | No storage written by the tool; browser restoration may vary |
| Copy message | Requested text is written to the device clipboard | Controlled by your device and clipboard settings |
| Download text | A local text file is created through a temporary object URL | The temporary URL is revoked; the downloaded file remains until you remove it |
The brief tool does not read your existing clipboard contents. Copying is attempted only when you press Copy Message. If the browser does not allow automatic copying, the preview can be selected for manual copying instead. A download is not an upload and does not send the brief to us.
4. Your browser controls
You can inspect and clear cookies and website data through your browser’s privacy or site-settings controls. You can also restrict clipboard permissions, disable form autofill or clear clipboard history where your device supports it. Deleting website data does not automatically delete a downloaded text file, an email you sent or a copy synchronised by your own device services.
Disabling JavaScript prevents the brief preview, copy and download automation from working, but the articles and contact email remain available. External links open other websites whose storage practices are governed by their own notices.
5. Changes and contact
If optional analytics, embedded media or other storage-based features are introduced, the relevant information and any required consent controls must be updated before use. This notice should be read alongside our privacy notice, which covers correspondence and technical access information.
